What 700 New Styles a Month Tells Us About Demand
What 700 New Styles a Month Tells Us About Demand

We put out roughly 700 new styles a month across three materials. A small share of them get reordered. Over sixteen years, watching which ones do has taught us more than any trend report.

All observations in this note come from KAVNAR's own new-style and reorder records. We do not cite third-party market statistics.

What reordered styles have in common

  • Stackable pieces reorder noticeably more often than pieces designed to be worn alone.
  • Mid-sized proportions travel further than extremes — too big and too small both shrink the customer base.
  • Detachable, multi-wear structures are appearing more and more in reorders.
  • Strongly seasonal styles spike fast and fade fast — they sell, but they do not build a base.

What non-reorders have in common

  • Styles that depend on one popular symbol die the moment that symbol fades.
  • Pieces that are technically hard to make but visually indistinguishable from easier ones — the cost goes in, the premium never comes out.
  • Pieces that look great in photos but feel heavy or thin in the hand.

Different markets want different things

From our export orders, in qualitative terms:

  • North American orders concentrate more on daily-wear and mid-neutral styles.
  • European orders ask more about material story and craftsmanship detail.
  • Middle East and Southeast Asian orders accept higher saturation and stronger decoration.

These are directional observations from our own order book, not percentages — the patterns are visible before the numbers are.

Three pieces of advice before you build a range

  • Do not bet a whole new line on one style. Use low MOQs to test a combination.
  • Prioritize stackable and detachable structures — they have longer lifecycles.
  • Track your own reorder data. By season two you will have a baseline more accurate than any report.

What This Means for Your Order

Before committing to a bulk range, run twenty designs at minimum quantity and let sell-through decide. That is what our 60-piece minimum is for — not to save you money, but to buy you information.
